homemade noize

I have been so stuck in a pentatonic blues rut. I think it happens to quite a few guitarist I imagine. I am kind of a single note run power code guy. I am note that interested in most of the theoretical complexities. It is not my thing.

What I have found difficult about it is that some much of the music I love is based is based on pentatonic and blues scales. It is easy to fall in the same pattern. I might have a blue or pentatonic soul. What i am making a conscious effort at doing is trying to live up the same old stuff I play by doing things different. Maybe I still trapped in the pentatonic box but I am trying to do different things in it. It takes some effort to stay way from the familiar I am finding it worth it. But there is some work is involved. It been to long since I have working on things and I have forgotten how good it is to learn something even slightly new.

I was going to include some links to sites that are helping me escape my rut but I have found that if you a throw in the Internet it will probably bounce a nude photo or two of Paris Hilton and a few videos of pet doing something funny and land on a site with guitar lessons, tips or tab. So, since everyone learns differently Google will be your friend if your like me and need to break out of your rut.
