64 Studio or Linux Music Again

screenshot3-mini1

A while back I post and artilce on Ubuntu Studio.  I very much like Linux and use it as much as I can but school,  work, gaming and music production prevents me from making the switch to Linux only. I know I am part of a large group of people in that wishes just can’t.  64 studio is another choice similar to Unbuntu Studio.  A Linux distribution design for audio production and taken advantage for 64 bit processing power.  I am not sure how much different this would be to the x86-64 distro of Ubuntu Studio.  I have got a chance to play with it yet.  I am not sure I need yet another item in my boot menu.

One differenece is fairly cheap paid support of 64 studio.  If  some one out there once to make the jump but doesn’t want to do it alone it might be a good idea for at least a few month until they are comfortable with Linux and a few BASH commands stops filling there heart with dread.

Still I think there needs to be software that combines Rosegarden’s midi and Adour’s audio.   I am excited for Adour 3.x with midi.  I think a port of something like Reaper would be greater but it does work pretty well using WINE.

If you want to give it a try 64 Studio might be for you.  I am going to play with the distro soon and report back.
